Celebrating Five Years of the Artemis Accords

On December 11, 2025, Meridian, a nonpartisan center for diplomacy, convened global space leaders to reflect on the first five years of the Artemis Accords, one of the most influential developments in 21st-century space diplomacy.

As Redwire’s President of Civil and International Space Business, Mike Gold, one of the co-writers of the Accords, explained, the Accords were deliberately structured as non-binding norms, enabling rapid adoption and broad participation without the constraints of treaty ratification. This flexibility and global relevance have allowed the Accords to become a unifying framework for responsible behavior, transparency, and peaceful exploration.

Watch Mike’s keynote and other speakers from this special gathering, which examined how the Accords emerged, expanded, and continue to shape global space governance five years on. Watch the major insights discussed during the event here.
